In the previous post I left an emoji too. (But I did listen to the reggae/meditation-style song once).

As you said, art now is for the creator.

Some months ago, I was heavier at the gym. I also preferred to listen to my own songs; they were not published, too intimate to share (some may even call it cringe). But they motivated me. So much better than the prefabricated music they play at the gym. I prefer to hear my own curated thoughts with melody than something designed to please/entertain/numb the masses.

My songs at that time were even specific for that moment/goal. Now they don't make sense anymore.

Maybe there comes a time where art is like a cigarette: you light it up, consume it, it produces an effect on you... then it is gone. Right now, I don't have an opinion if that is good or bad, but it seems it is going to happen.

Hey Ericson -just to clarify, it’s not the emoji itself. I get it. What I meant in the Burn Blog was more about those fast, shallow reactions - when someone just drops a symbol instead of actually reading or feeling. But you did listen. You did reflect. That’s all that matters.

And your cigarette line -yes. That hit. I’ve lived that too. Some songs were made only for that one version of me… and when he’s gone, they’re gone too.

Art as ignition. Then ash. Then silence.

I respect that.
